Eid Al Adha Prayer Salah


In the celebration of Eid al-Adha on 10 Eid al-Hijjah each year, Muslims hold the Eid al-Adha prayer 2 Rak'ah, then followed by the slaughter of sacrificial animals / Qurbani.

During the COVID-19 pandemic towards new normal, Eid al-Adha prayers can be done in mosques, homes or the fields. Most of the ulama are of the opinion that the law of Eid al-Adha prayer is the sunnah of muakkad or sunna which is emphasized in the process.

In the book Fathul Qarib by Shaykh Muhammad bin Qasim al-Ghazziy explained, "Prayers of two feasts (Idulfitri and Iduladha) are sunk muakkadah for people who are at home or on a journey, independent and slave, both men, and women".

 

The procedure for Eid al-Adha prayer

Iduladha Prayers, like Idulfitri Prayers, are performed by 2 rak'ahs. The difference with other Sunnah Prayers is the intention and number of takbir in each rak'ah of Eid prayer. Eid prayer should be done at the beginning of time (since the sun rises).

The following is the procedure for Eid al-Adha prayer

1. Reading the intention of Eid Al-Fitr Prayers, which is pronounced in Arabic

which means, "I intend to pray the Eid al-Adha sunnah of two rak'ahs (become makmum / imam) because of Allah ta'ala."

2. Takbiratul Ihram

3. Read the iftitah prayer

4. Takbir 7 times for the first rak'ah

5. Read the Surah Al-Fatihah

6. Reading one of the surahs or verses in the Qur'an,

7. Iktidal bowing,

8. First prostration,

9. Sitting between two prostrations,

10. The second prostration,

11. Sit down for a moment before getting up to work on the second rak'ah,

12. Takbir 5 times for the second rak'ah, reciting Surah Al-Fatihah,

13. Reading one of the surahs or verses in the Qur'an,

14. Iktidal bowing,

15. First prostration,

16. Sitting between two prostrations,

17. Second prostration,

18. Sit tasyahud

19. Ends with Salam

20. Then the Eid al-Adha sermon
